WestLB Mellon Asset Management (WMAM) is a joint venture — growing out of a merger between WestLB Asset Management (WAM) and Mellon Bank.
It is a global investment management organisation with around €40 billion in assets under management, primarily for institutional investors. It produces and distributes investment products.
WMAM’s range of products and services includes the full spectrum of European products, global bonds, US fixed income and money markets and emerging markets, as well as niche products such as Australian equities. For our German clients, the joint venture offers access to US corporate bonds, global equities, US equities and hedge funds, making us a competitive investment manager within the market.
WMAM has particular capability in:
- European, Japanese, Australian, Emerging Markets Equity and Emerging Market Equity Long/Short products
- Global, US, European and Emerging Markets Fixed Income products
- European and multi-asset balanced funds
- European convertible products
- Private Equity

WMAM serves institutional investors such as banks and the Sparkassen, pension funds, insurers, corporate clients, foundations, governments and central banks. We do not sell our products directly to private clients, preferring to use established sales partners like independent asset managers, multi-branch and direct banks, as well as internet platforms.
We make our investment know-how available to our clients in the form of customised investment vehicles, from asset management mandates to special and general funds and complex fund structures (e.g. for private equity investments).
