With approximately 750 full-time professionals, the Information Technology (IT) business unit delivers IT services to all of WestLB’s businesses worldwide.
IT’s focus is on reliability and performance since WestLB’s systems have to be available at all times otherwise the Bank could lose millions of pounds within seconds, to say nothing of the long-term damage it could do to our reputation. The architecture involved provides the feeds and links between clients, service providers and our offices in 35 locations. So systems really have to be “fit for purpose” to provide the tools that help generate revenue and provide our clients with the highest level of service.
Needless to say, with the fast-changing nature of the work, the high volumes and sums involved and the interdependence of systems, the working environment is never less than exciting.
